David Sings Hosanna
Davey, AKA Davey the WonderDog, AKA David Sings
Hosanna, was our introduction into the world of afghan hounds. He was a
very special boy. His breeder, Lynda Farley, taught me how to groom an afghan hound and also how to hand pluck the fuzzies in the saddle area. My only dog for several years, Davey was my best friend and we enjoyed so much together. He was patient and kind and rock steady. We hold all our afghan hounds to that standard of temperament, although most will not be Therapy Dogs, since being a Therapy Dog is - in my opinion - more than excellent temperament, but a gift. Davey passed over to the Rainbow Bridge and the age of 12 and will always be a cherished part of the history here at RafA.

Breezy
Breezy came into our hearts, stayed with us so briefly, and will be loved and remembered forever. She was our first female afghan and Ravi's full sister. Most definitely "All Afghan". The aloof queen, the silly clown - she is the standard by which every female afghan hound in our home is measured. Breezy was just getting started on her show career when she developed a rapidly growing tumor on her spine which ended her life. Our grandson (with whom she is pictured) says he sees her winking at him in the stars.
Long may you run sweet Breezy.. |
Ch Aries Marsanne Carousel
Introducing Marsanne who is shown below, winning reserve at the
Northern California Afghan Hound Club Specialty, to an Australian Grand
Champion (over 100 BIS wins in Australia) who was flown in especially
for this event. We acquired Marsanne who is a son of Ch. Aries
Sunshowers, to breed to our Miyavi. Marsanne finished his title with a Best of Breed and has sired one litter for Aries Afghan Hounds which produced three Chs in three countries. His AKC Ch daughters are Aries Angelica Carousel and Charmeine of Garden Lodge (who was top hound in Venezuela). His son Ch Aries Roussanne d'Avignon defeated the #2 Afghan in Canada TWICE to attain his title and is a group winner.
